Stop cutting down and start building up!
Hopefully, this will be the last modification to the interior and all my energies will be focused on the re-building from now on. I have been thinking about this cut for a year now. I am glad I did it. I was worried about the visual impact but so far I am happy with it. Plus, I get better access to the icebox so I can raise the top by several inches giving me a bit more capacity in my capacity starved cold storage area.
I bet the look would be even better if I did the same to the port side. Then the whole mast beam and supports area would be visible. It would also make the exposed head feel that much more exposed so I am going to leave that bulkhead alone.
I have a rainy couple of days coming up so I am going to concentrate on making some money and finding my next job. I am practically done anyway. A little paint, a couple of interior panels, and I am ready to sail off into the sunset...

If your job is fancy enough, you can just hire someone to finish her for you...
But then I couldn't swell with pride and announce that "I" did it all... Although I already plan on farming out the final Awl-Grip spray job so I guess I can't do that anyway. Having the boat 'finished' is a good goal but not the only one. I like the process too and wouldn't want to pass on the opportunity unless I was really afraid of the project getting bogged down to the point of abandonement.
I am sorry, did I miss your suggestion that you will come down and finish it for me?...
Sure. If the pay is good enough!
So here is where Dasein's owner has been secretly "hanging out". Only 2 posts to the PC forum THIS YEAR! What is happenning? Did we offend you or something?
Back to this blog: what color did you say that Awl-Grip job was going to be?
Hehe, I haven't said anything about the color becaue I wasn't sure. Now I am sure and I want to keep it as a surprise. It is a color that is not often seen.. New paint should happen in the next couple of months so you won't have to hold yor breath for to long :-)
Britton, your color secret is safe with me. Mike (ariel414) tried to pry the information out of me recently, but despite severe torture methods employed I remained mute.
It's true. Not a peep. Not even a hint! I even brought my 6 year-old and had him crawl around in fiberglass dust to soften him up! The man is unshakable!
But be warned, I am studying up on torture techniques for my next visit. Moo ha ha!!
(Hmmm... I sure do like that MAROON CD27 at the club.)
